Your path from beginner to professional screen actor. Spotlight-recognised, and built around real life.
First Take. Take Two. Final Cut. The Green Room. Two years of structured, part-time training.

The Actor Rebellion offers a modular two-year programme designed to take you from complete beginner to Spotlight-eligible screen actor, giving you an alternative to drama school. The journey has four stages:
First Take | Beginners
Where it starts. A 10-week introduction to acting for film and TV. No experience needed.
The next step. You will deepen your skills through impulse work, improvisation, and partner-based exercises that help you stay present and responsive on screen.
The professional programme. 70 hours of Spotlight-recognised screen acting training combined with dedicated industry sessions covering everything you need to launch a career. Entry is by audition.
Green Room membership continues your training and industry support to meet Spotlight's two year requirement. Members also have the opportunity to perform in a yearly showcase in front of an invited audience.
The full programme meets the requirements for Spotlight membership, the industry standard directory for professional actors. Most students complete the journey and become Spotlight eligible within two years. Entry into Final Cut is by audition and is not automatic. We audit to make sure students are ready for the demands of the programme and that our approach to acting is the right fit for them.
If you join at a later stage, skipping one of the earlier levels due to having prior experience or training, we can work with you to build a programme that still meets the Spotlight two year requirement. Some students join us at Take Two or Final Cut having trained elsewhere.

"It’s not often that you can genuinely say that an experience was life changing. But The Actor Rebellion have done that in spades. I developed the skills and confidence to put myself out there. I am now an Equity member, have a Spotlight profile, an agent and a great amount of experience in TV and film."
Lauren, Student of 2024/2025

Who's the programme for?
Our classes are open to anyone aged 18 and over. There is no upper age limit.
Our students come to us for all kinds of reasons. Some left college knowing that full-time drama school wasn't the right fit, financially, practically, or both. Some took a career route that never really felt right and are finally doing something about it. Some have spent years in jobs that have become more flexible, and acting is something they have always wanted to make room for. Some are heading towards retirement and want to explore a completely new creative path.
If any of that sounds familiar, get in touch.
