Join us at The Actor Rebellion, and be part of a movement that's redefining the path into acting.
The Actor Rebellion was born from a simple truth: the traditional route into acting has never worked for everyone.
We know what it's like to love acting, to feel it in your bones, and then be told it isn't for people like you.
Full-time drama school costs tens of thousands of pounds and demands you put your whole life on hold. For most people, that's not an option. Jobs, families, bills. So we built a different route.
Since 2010, The Actor Rebellion has been a training ground for actors across the South of England. Our courses are part-time and designed to fit around real life. We work with students at every stage: people just starting out, people returning to something they were once told to let go of, and people who've never had the chance to try. Maybe you loved acting at school. Maybe life just got in the way. We're here to show you it's not too late.
Our approach starts with one core belief. You are enough. The work of the actor is the pursuit of life. We help our actors follow their impulses and build performances rooted in truth, using techniques inspired by Meisner and the later work of Stanislavski. We know the industry is constantly evolving, TV and Film, gaming, VR, verticals, immersive theatre, and we give our actors the tools to produce performances that genuinely connect.
We've seen first-hand the challenges that hold people back. We're not interested in gatekeeping. We're here for actors of all ages and backgrounds, the ones who dare to take risks and aren't afraid to learn from their mistakes.

Meet the Founders
Hannah and Luke Marquez founded The Actor Rebellion. Luke leads the acting training across the core courses. Hannah teaches the industry side, and as a working talent agent, she brings that knowledge into the classroom that most acting schools simply don't have access to.
Luke grew up in Swindon and started out at Sixth Sense Youth Theatre. He studied acting at university, then went on to complete a Masters at Central School of Speech and Drama. Since then he has worked as an actor and director, always with a focus on developing the actors around him and creating innovative new work.
Hannah trained as a dancer and singer before studying musical theatre at university. She spent years working in marketing and advertising, which gave her a rare view of casting from the client side. She still works as an actor, most recently featuring in a national campaign for Hargreaves Lansdown, and runs The Actor Rebellion talent agency.
In 2010 they founded Wrong Shoes Theatre Company, touring the UK and performing at the Edinburgh Fringe with site-specific and immersive work for adults and children, supported by Arts Council England. The intimate and close-up nature of that work is what shaped the way they train actors today.
Both have juggled jobs, bills, and responsibilities while trying to build something they believed in. They know exactly what their students are up against, because they have been there themselves.
They also bring in like-minded working industry professionals to deliver masterclasses in specialist areas.
